Apparition of the "Brown Lady", 1936

Photograph ©Country Life Magazine, Captain Provand and Indre Shira, 1936

This famous photo was taken in Raynham Hall in England, by two photographers from the Country Life magazine in 1936. The apparition is believed to be Lady Dorothy Townshend, wife of Charles Townshend, the 2nd Viscount of Raynham. This same apparition has been spotted more than once. According to Indre Shira, one of the photographers, this is what happened: "Captain Provand took one photograph while I flashed the light. He was focusing for another exposure; I was standing by his side just behind the camera with the flashlight pistol in my hand, looking directly up the staircase. All at once I detected an ethereal veiled form coming slowly down the stairs. Rather excitedly, I called out sharply: 'Quick, quick, there's something.' I pressed the trigger of the flashlight pistol. After the flash and on closing the shutter, Captain Provand removed the focusing cloth from his head and turning to me said: 'What's all the excitement about?'"

Graveyard Ghost in Tombstone

Photograph ©Ghosts of Tombstone

This photo was taken by the webmaster at Ghosts of Tombstone. He claims: "I personally shot this photograph of my friend in Boothill Graveyard... We had it developed at Thrifty Drug Store and I know no one tampered with it! The picture was shot in black & white, because my friend wanted old west looking pictures of himself dressed up in my 1880 period clothes. I know there was no other person in this photograph when I shot it, especially some guy holding a knife! That's right folks, if you look carefully the person in the background appears to be holding a knife! Look just to the right of my friend and you'll see a person which appears to have no legs or is coming out of a grave!" Apparition of Freddy Jackson, 1919

Photograph © Sir Victor Goddard, 1975

This photograph was taken in 1919 by a retired R.A.F. officer named Sir Victor Goddard. The photo is of Goddard’s squadron that served in World War1 aboard the HMS Daedalus.

Two days before this photo was taken, Freddy Jackson, an air mechanic, was killed by an airplane propeller. Freddy’s funeral was held on the same day that the picture was taken.

Members of the squadron recognized and identified the face as being that of Freddy Jackson. Others say that it is simply an imperfection on the film that bears resemblance to the dead air mechanic.

Ghost Pic: Myrtles Plantation 3

This photo was taken at the Myrtles Plantation in Francisville, Louisiana. Thank you Blane for sending it in!

Blane and his wife and friends spent Halloween night at the Myrtles Plantation. In addition to this awesome photo, he said, "We had a great time at the Myrtles on Halloween night. The strangest things I took note of (besides this pic) was that there was a pipe smoke smell that “came and went” constantly, my camcorder tripod moved, and I heard what sounded like marbles rolling on the floor !!!"

Extra Child

The people present when this photo was taken, claim that this child was not in the room at the time.

By The Water

To me, this looks like a young woman sitting by the water with her back to the camera.
